Artificial intelligence is heralded as a potential saviour to the world's most complex problems. But it also raises questions around its ethics. We can’t help but wonder: as the robot revolution is gaining pace, is it running in line with our values? Will the robot apocalypse lead to the downfall of humankind (no hyperbole intended …)?

One thing is definitely certain: Artificial intelligence has vast potential. Its responsible implementation is up to us!

This closing panel will address the ethical issues that are keeping business leaders and the AI experts up at night – mainly how we can ensure that AI is being used for the good in the world and in the workplaces.

Questions under discussion:
  • What are the real benefits and risks of AI at work?
  • Change manager. Educator. Cultural champion. Why AI needs HR?
  • How do we deal with the top ethical dilemmas in adopting AI technology at work (data rights and privacy, bias, error correction)?
  • How can HR be a critical business partner in the due diligence process and implementation of AI-enabled technology?

Moderator:
Daneal Charney - Director of Talent, Venture Services, MaRS Discovery District

Carole J. Piovesan - Associate, McCarthy Tétrault
